What this is

Nevada Economic Forum (nevadaeconomicforum.org) is an independent, data-driven reference site covering Nevada's economy and the state's official Economic Forum revenue-forecasting process. We built it because that forecast — a binding revenue ceiling set by law — governs every budget the Legislature passes, and there was no single place tracking what the panel predicted against what actually happened.

What this is not

Nevada Economic Forum (nevadaeconomicforum.org) is an independent publication. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a representative of the State of Nevada, the Nevada Economic Forum panel established under NRS 353.226, the Governor’s Finance Office, or the Nevada Legislature. The name describes our editorial coverage — the state’s official Economic Forum — not our affiliation with it. We do not use the Nevada state seal or any official insignia. When we describe ourselves as covering "the Nevada Economic Forum," we mean the government body created under NRS 353.226 — we are reporting on it, not speaking for it.

Sourcing standard

Every statistic published here carries a named primary source, a source URL, and an "as of" date. We draw from:

• U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) — employment, unemployment
• U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) — GDP
• U.S. Census Bureau — population
• Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR)
• Nevada Gaming Control Board — gaming win and taxable sales
• budget.nv.gov and the Legislature's Fiscal Division — Economic Forum reports

UNLV's Center for Business and Economic Research and Brookings Mountain West are cited as analysis and commentary, never as the data of record. If we cannot verify a number against a primary source at build time, we do not publish a placeholder in its place — the page ships without it.
